What better time to resurrect this blog than half past 8 on a Monday morning? I've got four hours of lectures ahead of me, starting in half an hour, and due to that being about as much work as I do at uni, that is reasonable grounds to do a blog complaining about it.
I really do think they stick us in a two hour long pretty boring lecture at this time just to spite us. How depressing. I'm not spite worthy! Go spite the Nazis or something.
I'd best be setting off soon anyway, there ain't no way I'm beating all those lazy Chinese people to the lifts in York House. God they love lifts.
Adios.

I don't wanna become a film critic or anything..
.. what with my two latest posts being film recommendations, but seriously:
Watch the film Crash. I cannot recommend it enough. It is the single most moving piece of cinema I have ever seen. That is all.

Cellar Door
I watched Donnie Darko last night. It always just completely, like, hypnotises me. It's just great, I never seem to remember it as one of my favourite films but whenever I watch it, it just amazes me. I should definitely remember it as one of my favourite films. It's just so thought-provoking, y'know.'I can do anything I want, and so can you.' I love that, it just sums up life so simply. In essence, we can all do anything we want. We don't, cos it would cause destruction, chaos. But there's no real reason why we couldn't. If we wanted to we could do whatever we want, see whatever we want, feel whatever we want. But we don't. Ah well.
Until I can be arsed to write another blog, remember the most beautiful combination of words ever put together - cellar door.
Peace.

Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Trainspotting was on the other night. It is unreal how much I love that film. If there's one film that damn sure makes you want to do heroin, it is that one. The 'choose life' speech at the start with Born Slippy playing is just amazing, it gets me every time. Someone pass me my needle.
I was in York today, which was an extremely welcome change to the desolate pit of pain and distress we call Doncaster. It's really nice in York, but I today realised that it is insanely dear. One place was selling baguettes for a fiver. I felt like just walking in, kicking em in the nuts and leaving. I did not, however, do that. Every time I go to York there always seems to be street performers, and this time was no different. I decided to go watch this man who was all chained up and talking on his mic about how he was gonna escape withing two minutes. Before he started the trick, though, he went on about how people should give him donations for literally ten minutes. That went on for five times as long as the trick. A trick which wasn't even that impressive. I didn't give him a donation. Whilst I'm listing things in York, I was in a sandwich shop and this old man came down and sat next to me, pulled a chair up next to him, and just put his hat on it. A WHOLE CHAIR FOR HIS HAT! God he was cool.
One thing that I did see in Donny (when I was on the bus to town) which did make me pretty happy about this town was what I believe was the opening of the Gurdwara (Sikh church) on the edge of town. There was a right Sikh party going on, I wish I could have joined em. It's a shame that will have been burnt down within a few weeks, when the chavs realise that people who aren't white are practising their faith. Ah well, I suppose we could all just turn to heroin.

iHustle

I was looking around my blog (like you do) and realised that it's been a whole five days since I've done a new post, which was longer than I thought, so I then decided it was time for a new one. I also realised I only have three 'followers', which I'm somewhat disheartened by but hey, what're ya gonna do?
I've been listening to as much of my iTunes as possible lately, just to see which songs I like more than I thought I did. The new Yeah Yeah Yeahs song is up there, as is Wildcat by Be Your Own Pet and anything by Aphex Twin. Good times. I would make a playlist for my iPod but that is still at the twins' house (hi Natalie and Charlotte, don't nick my iPod please) until Tuesday/Thursday - whenever I decide to go out at night first. I'm definitely going Thursday cos last time was mint but I'm unsure of Tuesday yet. We'll see.
I can't believe in this day and age (and more importantly, in Bessacarr!) I have to wait for the hot water to come on until I can have a bath. It is most uncool. I wasn't even gonna have a bath but since I've got back from uni I've discovered that our shower's broke. God, I leave and the place falls apart.
Anyway, I just heard a big ol' bang downstairs so that either means that my dog's trying cartwheeling for the first time or we're being burgled. Either way, I probably shouldn't be sat up here typing a blog whilst it's happening. Good fight, good night.

30 roses for a fiver.
I was in town today, and there was a guy at the market who seemed convinced he was Del Boy, he kept going 'lovely jubbly' and the like. He was also trying to sell bunches of 30 roses for a fiver. Who even wants 30 roses? That's just greedy. Also in town I saw a teenage mum screaming 'shut up, you little bitch!' at her toddler daughter. Ah, Doncaster.

So me and Nick got our Leeds Festival tickets extremely quick this year. Like 20 minutes in. Was well chuffed. I'm supremely happy about the lineup, on the whole. I'm a Radiohead convert, I still love Kings of Leon even though they're painfully overplayed these days, and I would've jumped to see bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Prodigy at any time in my life. So yeah, can't wait! I'm intruiged as to who the 'special guests' are with still a slight fingers crossed hope it could be Blink, but it'll no doubt be someone underwhelming.
Also, I'm tired of life and I'm gonna kill myself now.
.... April Fools! :')

Leeds tickets
Leeds Festival tickets go on sale tonight at 7. Annoyingly, the lineup also gets released at the exact same time. Not at all cool. It's not like the lineup matters, cos I'll be going anyway, but still it'd be nice to know. I don't see why people worry about getting tickets online. I'm an unhappy little man.
Me and dad are watching The Flintstones together, it's so cool. I'd love it if I had a house like their's. I would just adore a typewriter with a little blue bird on it!
